1968 Condon Report: Scientific Study or Cover-Up?

The 1968 University of Colorado Condon Committee report served as the U.S. Air Force’s rationale for closing Project Blue Book. The report, 1,465 pages long, analyzed 59 cases—although 30% were classified as “unexplained,” it concluded that UFOs had “no scientific research value.”

It was later discovered that Condon himself held strong biases against the UFO topic. In an internal memo, committee chairman Robert Low wrote: “Our strategy is to make the study appear objective, but in reality, it is to end this matter as quickly as possible.” American physicist Dr. James McDonald publicly criticized the Condon report as “a scientific scandal.”
