Hermann Oberth''''s UFO Views: Rocket Pioneer Believed UFOs Were Alien

Hermann Oberth (1894-1989) is hailed as the father of modern rocket science. In a 1954 interview with American Weekly, he stated: “I am convinced that UFOs are real spacecraft from other solar systems, piloted by some form of intelligent beings.”

As a rocket scientist, he was particularly intrigued by the propulsion systems of UFOs: “They can hover, fly at extreme speeds, and make right-angle turns—far surpassing any known propulsion technology. They must be using physical principles we have yet to grasp.” Oberth’s stance is significant because he was a respected authority in mainstream academia.
