1998 Sturrock Panel: Scientists Objectively Review UFO Evidence

In 1998, Stanford physics professor Peter Sturrock organized an expert panel—composed of interdisciplinary scientists including physicists, astronomers, geologists, and psychologists—to examine physical evidence of UFOs at Stanford University: radar records, photographs, physical traces, electromagnetic interference effects, etc.

The panel’s report concluded: “Most events can be explained as ordinary phenomena, but about 5-10% of cases, even under rigorous scrutiny, cannot be explained by known phenomena and warrant further scientific research.” This conclusion came from mainstream scientists, not UFO researchers.
