1982 Soviet Nuclear Base Incident: UFOs Over Ukrainian Silos

In October 1982, an unprecedented event occurred at the Soviet strategic missile base in Pervomaisk, western Ukraine. A retired officer using the pseudonym “Mikhail” testified that an object emitting intense white light flew at low altitude over the base, causing severe interference with electronic systems—the control systems of some missiles displayed an “abnormal launch status,” meaning the missile launch program automatically activated for several seconds, while all communication equipment simultaneously failed.

The KGB investigation team interrogated all duty officers and ordered the incident to be classified as “absolute top secret.” Soviet UFO researcher Dr. Vladimir Azhazha disclosed this event in the 1990s.
