🇪🇸 1971 Spanish Military Base UFO Incident: Soldiers Opened Fire on Giant Humanoid

During the Cold War in Europe, it wasn’t just the tense standoff between the US and the Soviet Union; there were also UFO incidents that remain unexplained to this day. In March 1971, a military radar base in southern Spain experienced an extremely unusual close encounter—soldiers not only saw a UFO land but also opened fire on a 7-foot-tall humanoid creature.

The Incident

On the night of March 25, 1971, soldier Jesus Jofre Mila at a military radar base near the southern coast of Spain experienced the most bizarre night of his life.

According to his later testimony, the event began with the base’s patrol dogs. These highly trained German Shepherds, usually well-adapted to night patrols, were unusually agitated and panicked that night, impossible to calm down no matter what. Mila said the dogs seemed to sense something completely alien.

Soon, soldiers pointed to the sky. Above the radar antenna in the night sky, a disc-shaped craft appeared—a classic double-layered oval shape, emitting a golden glow. Several soldiers together witnessed this object slowly cross the horizon, then suddenly dart toward the sea at astonishing speed, eventually disappearing.

Flash in the Sea and Injured Soldier

But the night wasn’t over yet.

Another soldier stationed near the rocky coastline personally saw the same object dive rapidly toward the sea. When it touched the water’s surface, it emitted an intense flash—so bright that it temporarily blinded the soldier.

When other soldiers found him afterward, he was covering his eyes with both hands, and his eyes were swollen for several days. The base’s medical staff could not explain the injuries at all, and there were no signs of any conventional explosions, aircraft, or weapons fire at the scene.

Green Light Outside the Fence

Later that same night, Mila and another soldier, armed, followed one of the dogs toward the base’s outer perimeter fence—where they noticed an unnatural green glow.

As they approached, they felt the surrounding air seemed charged with static electricity, the whole environment feeling “electrified.” Mila described a numbing, tingling sensation on his tongue, like touching a battery. Even the dog was acting strangely, shaking its head repeatedly as if in pain.

Then they heard it—heavy footsteps, fast and urgent, chillingly close.

Face to Face with a Humanoid

A very tall figure emerged from the darkness, estimated to be between 7 and 7.2 feet (about 213-219 cm) tall. The two soldiers shouted commands, but got no response at all.

In a panic, one soldier fired first. Mila then followed suit, firing multiple shots from his 9mm pistol. The muzzle flashes briefly illuminated the figure—what they saw was completely unlike a human.

According to the description:

Extremely tall and slender
Pale skin
Long, light-colored hair reaching the shoulders
Wearing a tight, metallic-looking outfit with a high collar
A clear inverted triangle emblem on the belt

The most terrifying part: this humanoid showed no reaction whatsoever to the gunfire or bullets.

Mila said that at that moment, time seemed to stand still. Then the humanoid calmly turned, walked toward the fence, and disappeared into the darkness.

The Missing Fence

After a while, the soldiers heard the sound of metal clashing. When dawn came, the evidence was undeniable.

A section of the base’s inner fence, about 50 centimeters wide—had completely vanished. The edges of the break showed burn marks, as if cut or eroded by a laser. The outer fence remained intact. There were no footprints, no debris, no mechanical explanation.

The base eventually had to roughly patch the gap with wire.

Dreams, Voices, and the Returning Light

In the nights following the incident, Mila had intense dreams related to the encounter. One night, he said he heard overlapping voices in his head—initially unintelligible. A few days later, he said the messages became clearer, but he remained very reserved about the content.

By March 27, the lights returned, this time witnessed by dozens of soldiers, possibly over 100.

Significance of the Incident

What makes this case special is its multiple layers of evidence:

Multiple witnesses — Not just one person saw it; soldiers across the base were witnesses
Physical traces — The missing section of fence with burned edges
Physical injuries — The soldier with eye damage from the flash had medical records
Weapons engagement — Soldiers indeed fired their guns, but it had no effect on the entity
