1977 Colares UFO Attacks: Brazil''''s Operation Saucer

In 1977, a UFO incident that shocked South America occurred on Colares Island at the mouth of the Amazon River in Brazil—residents were “attacked” by beams of light from UFOs, with multiple people injured, prompting the Brazilian Air Force to launch a large-scale military investigation called “Operation Saucer.”

Residents reported multiple UFOs emitting intense red, blue, and yellow lights hovering over rooftops at night. Some said they were struck by beams shot from the crafts, causing skin burns, paralysis, and dizziness. Over 40 injury reports were registered.

The Brazilian Air Force dispatched an investigation team led by Captain Uyrangê Hollanda. They captured numerous UFO photos (over 500) and recorded many residents’ testimonies. Hollanda later stated: “We saw them, they are real.”
