The Mothman Prophecies: West Virginia''''s Winged Cryptid and UFO Connection

Between November 1966 and December 1967, a legendary mysterious creature known as Mothman appeared in the Point Pleasant area of West Virginia. Witnesses described it as a humanoid figure about 2 meters tall, with huge wings and eyes that emitted a red glow.

The Mothman story is closely linked to UFOs—many witnesses saw UFOs either before or after encountering Mothman. At the same time, numerous reports mention the appearance of “Men in Black” attempting to silence witnesses.

On December 15, 1967, the Silver Bridge in Point Pleasant suddenly collapsed, killing 46 people. Many local residents believed that Mothman’s appearance was an omen of disaster. Writer John Keel’s best-selling book The Mothman Prophecies brought this story to the world.
